The router doesn't need a pc card slot. Connect the pc card slot and a router to the computer, that's how I do, but instead, I use a Wireless Access Point

Sounds like our Telkom...All the wireless carriers are usually fast. You just go in the shop, sign the contract, and activate it. I think in the olden days it took about few hours to activate on their systems. Now it's much quicker, and if you're on prepaid, it's few seconds only.
Now fixed line internet, don't even mention it!
